Veronica crossbody bag from the Danish brand, Markberg. Veronica can be worn both over the shoulder and across the body and has two large separate compartments, a zip pocket on the front, a small pocket inside and an adjustable and removable strap. The idea for Markberg arose when Mette Markberg had to buy new gloves in 2008 and could not find the right ones with the right mix of design and function. Together with her husband, Mark, she set about developing high-quality designer gloves. Shortly after, the bags arrived.
Markberg is concerned with production that has less impact on the environment, both in the choice of partners and materials – a focus that, among other things, has resulted in a collection of bags made from recycled plastic bottles, which was launched in spring 2020.
All Markberg leather bags and small items are produced without leather waste. Residual leather, which is cut off in production, is recycled: First, larger leather scraps are used for smaller small items such as wallets and key rings. Smaller pieces of waste leather are used for upcycled products, produced as patchwork bags - and very small scraps are molded into leather plates, which are used inside bags to reinforce various elements in the bags.
