Jens Risom - A Seat at the Table, by is the first and only monograph on the life and work of the iconic Danish-American furniture designer, Jens Risom. Risom (1916-2016) brought Danish design from the middle of the last century to the United States through his collaboration with the American furniture brand, Knoll.

Jens Risom became one of the first designers to introduce Scandinavian design in the United States and his designs are sold today for large sums at auction.

In 1942 Risom's designs made up the majority of the first collection of original furniture from the American Hans Knoll Furniture Company – many of which are still in production today at leading manufacturers including Knoll, Design Within Reach, De Padova, Camira and Ralph Pucci.

With access to a wealth of never-before-seen sketches and photographs, American author and editor Vicky Lowry tells the story of Risom. From his education in Denmark, to the early collaborations with Georg Jensen and Hans Knoll, to the creation of his own company – all in all, Risom's significant presence in the 21st century design world.
