Poul Kjærholm mini bowl - duo
Choose options

PK-Mini - a duo of marble bowls, designed by the world-renowned Danish architect, Poul Kjærholm (1929-1980). PK-Mini is made of Nero Marquina marble, known for its soft black color, and White Voltas marble, known for its pure white color with light gray veins. Like other bowls in the series, PK-Mini emphasizes the contrast between black and white, between the smooth interior and the robust exterior. The two mini bowls were designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1963, as were the larger bowls, PK-600, PK-Bowl and PK-Marble.

Throughout his career as an architect and professor at the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen, Kjærholm insisted on structural clarity and technical quality, which he emphasized by incorporating these qualities into his designs of objects used in daily life.
Thus, Kjærholm pays homage to the details by showing each individual design and the individual objects' components – from nails to screws and joints – instead of hiding them. His furniture and design objects quickly set the standard for Danish design.
Poul Kjærholm became known for his modern, functionalist furniture, praised for its understated elegance and clean lines. With an uncompromising goal of fusing form and function, Kjærholm has created design objects, freed from all superfluous, with an elegant, timeless and functional design language.
Kjærholm's philosophy embraced sustainability as a timeless expression and emphasized the importance of using materials that age gracefully. In both the development and production of his designs, Poul Kjærholm demanded precision and was known for never releasing a product that he did not consider to be "perfect".
