Born of Darkness - Saint Petersburg

Born of Darkness - Saint Petersburg is a large photographic work about the atmosphere and people in Saint Petersburg, taken a few years before Russia's invasion of Ukraine. We move in and out of trains and trams, are on stairs and streets in a flickering circle with people caught in an everyday life that they themselves have no control over. It is an artistic and formal processing of a city and its people, where the past seems as much present as the present itself. The book's narrative forms a circle without beginning and end, like an image of a society closed in on itself.
