Exhibition poster with the work, Hiroshima's flower, (1968), created by the Croatian artist Ivan Rabuzin, in connection with the group exhibition, Naive art, in Louisiana in 1972.

In 1972, Louisiana opened its doors to an exhibition that, under the title, Naiv Kunst , embraced naïve painters from all over the world and contained 500 works.

Characteristically in Ivan Rabuzin's works, it is slightly dreamy, evocative and delicate. Other naïve artists use a more expressive idiom - but common is the rejection of the laws of perspective and the technically correct.

Naïve art arose in the 19th century as a reaction to the idiom of academic art and as a continuation of the traditions of folk art. Other perhaps better-known naïve artists include Henri Rousseau and his native, Hans Scherfig.
