PASSAGE by internationally renowned Danish photographer Søren Solkær is a collection of photographic journeys over the past two decades, during which photography has taken Søren around the world. As a consequence, airports and aircraft interiors around the world have formed a familiar backdrop for Søren's working life.

During his travels, Søren Solkær has consistently booked seats in front of or behind the plane wing, and photographing the wing and turbine became a regular ritual and a meditative practice associated with the travel life. The book consists of some of the most memorable moments from his air travels. Often semi-abstract images depicting ice crystals, rainbows, enormous cloud formations, metallic constructions or the sea of light seen during nighttime overflights of the world's major metropolises. He has also incorporated his fascination for the graphics and design used in aviation - from fountains, the graphic markings on the runways to the aerodynamic beauty that characterizes the wings. The images unfold from the ethereal and meditative to explosions of light and the extreme forces of nature. The book contains 124 images selected from a material of 50,000 images taken between 2001 and 2016.
