Cushion – Nikoline Oda 45 x 30 x 8 cm

Cushion in eelgrass from Danish designer Nikoline Oda. The eelgrass is harvested from the coasts of Møn, and as upholstery is a natural material that adds a unique tactility to the cushions.

Nikoline Oda is a trained designer from the Copenhagen School of Design, and has worked with eelgrass for several years as an alternative to upholstery foam. Central to Nikoline's practice is a handmade processing and an interest in the cohesion between material, color and tactility. The textiles used are predominantly discarded furniture textiles, including from Kvadrat, composed of raw linen canvas.

All the cushions are handmade and unique. The composition is based on the original size of the discarded textiles, which means that the cushions are created with minimal waste of resources.
