Tapis Noir was founded in 2020 by Mads Lehn Kruse, who combines his knowledge and experience as an art director with his personal interest in interiors and antique textiles in Tapis Noir. As a collector of rare textile documents, he reinterprets them in a contemporary context: woven textures are digitally translated while sumptuous tapestries and old wall panels are turned into silk in harmony with Lehn Kruse's own warp prints.
