Handmade Japanese candle holder - extra large, made of ceramic with lava glaze from the ceramic workshop Atelier i lejet. IWA (岩) means rock/stone in Japanese, and the candle holder is inspired by the rugged Nordic coast and the forms of nature. The candle holder is shaped by hand, where small variations in glaze and texture are a natural part of the handmade expression.
Atelier i Lejet is locally handmade ceramics from Tisvilde in Denmakr. A universe where love for the ceramic craft and the imperfect stroke meets aesthetics and authenticity in a handmade world of forms. Each sculpture, vase, plate, bowl, and relief is shaped by hand, thus reflecting the unique properties of the materials and the hands of the ceramist.
Every single product is personal and unique. This organic 'imperfection' is, according to the ceramist, precisely the beauty of ceramics. As all ceramics are handmade, small cracks and irregularities may occur, and the vase may vary slightly in expression, height, and size.
