Handmade Japanese candle holder - medium, in ceramic with lava glaze from the ceramic workshop Atelier i lejet. IWA (岩) means rock/stone in Japanese, and the candle holder is inspired by the rugged Nordic coast and the forms of nature. The candle holder is shaped by hand, where small variations in glaze and texture are a natural part of its handmade expression.
Atelier i Lejet offers locally hand-built ceramics from Tisvilde in Denmark. A universe where love for the ceramic craft and the imperfect stroke meets aesthetics and authenticity in a hand-built world of forms. Each sculpture, vase, plate, bowl, and relief is shaped by hand, thereby reflecting the unique properties of the materials and the ceramist's hands.
Each product is personal and unique. This organic 'imperfection' is, according to the ceramist, precisely what is beautiful about ceramics. As all ceramics are hand-built, small cracks and irregularities may occur, and the vase may vary slightly in expression, height, and size.
