___
The idea for Flensted Mobiles started with a stork – in the form of a small, innocent mobile made of straw and three small paper storks, which the company's founder, Christian Flensted, made for his daughter Mette's christening in 1953. In 1982, the business passed to his son Ole Flensted, and to this day they produce handmade mobiles with great respect for the company's fundamental values and creative perspectives on the world.
The originator of mobiles in modern art was the American artist Alexander Calder (1898 – 1976). Three of Calder's sculptures are displayed on the terrace in front of Louisiana's café.
