Small four-leaf clover stud earrings inspired by a genuine four-leaf clover picked in Denmark in 1952. The design celebrates the simple beauty of nature with authentic details in a smaller, elegant, and discreet version. Handcrafted from 100% recycled sterling silver plated with 22-carat gold. Can be worn alone for a minimalist look or styled with other jewelry for a personal expression.
The story of Flora Danica jewelry dates back to 1952, when Orla Eggert, a popular variety artist from the 1930s, developed the idea of making jewelry based on nature's unique designs. Already in the 1960s, Flora Danica found it difficult to source all the flowers and leaves needed for the rapidly growing production. It was particularly challenging to find all the four-leaf clovers that customers demanded. Therefore, there was a regular advertisement in the newspaper encouraging people to hand in four-leaf clovers every Sunday – and as a reward, there was one Danish Krone per four-leaf clover.
To keep up with increasing demand, production of the jewelry in solid sterling silver began in the 1970s. The jewelry was – and still is today – based 100% on the original casts of flowers and leaves from Danish nature in the 1950s and 60s.
