Louisiana revue published in connection with the exhibition, "The Cold Eye", about Germany in the 1920s: A journey 100 years back in time to the German Weimar Republic and the rich and fascinating cultural production of the interwar years. With just over 600 works and documents by over 90 artists, the exhibition shows the contours of a wild era in German culture. In addition to painting, drawing and photography, architecture, design, film, theatre, literature and music are also exhibited.

In the aftermath of the First World War, German society experienced some turbulent years of deep poverty and political unrest, while democracy with the Weimar Republic (1918-1933) experienced a short-term flourishing before the Nazis took power.
During the period, the artists seek to capture modern everyday life and to portray the lives and work of ordinary people in a realistic and sober way, which is often cleansed of sensitive empathy and ranges from the crass and satirical to the razor-sharp, almost clinical.
The exhibition presents works by, among others, Bertolt Brecht, Marcel Breuer, Ernst May, Christian Schad, Otto Dix, Franz Xaver Fuhr, Walter Gropius, Carl Grossberg, George Grosz, Grethe Jürgens, Alexander Kanoldt, Lotte Laserstein, Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, Franz Lenk , Jeanne Mammen, Erwin Piscator, Lotte B. Prechner, Franz Radziwill, Anita Rée, Albert Renger-Patzsch, August Sander, Rudolf Schlichter, Georg Scholz, Franz Wilhelm Seiwert, Karl Völker, Kurt Weill, Gert Wollheim.
