Choose options
Louisiana Poster featuring the work Daffodils and Celery (1946) by the British artist Lucian Freud, published in connection with the exhibition Everything is a Portrait (11 June). Lucian Freud (1922-2011) achieved recognition as one of the 20th century’s foremost figurative painters. The exhibition focuses on his lifelong preoccupation with the human face and figure. Exploring the artist's supreme mastery of drawing in all its forms – from pencil, pen, and ink to charcoal and etching on paper – the show also highlights the special dialogue between Freud's drawings and his painting.
A carefully selected group of important paintings reveals the dynamic relationship between his work on paper and on canvas. Together with archival research and previously unseen material, Lucian Freud – All Is Portrait will also include works that are being shown publicly for the first time.
