Anti-reflective framing with the work Encuentro, 1959, by the surrealist Spanish-Mexican painter Remedios Varo. The poster is delivered ready-framed with a matte laminated surface, which significantly reduces reflections from light sources compared to ordinary glass and provides a beautiful, calm visual expression without glare. The frame is made of oak veneer.
Remedios Varo, who stated that "the dream world and the real world are the same," attempted in an almost alchemical way to combine widely different techniques, fantasies, and notions in her paintings, which have an enigmatic, cinematic character and often incorporate hybrid creatures.
She used surrealism's chance-based processes, but was at the same time incredibly precise, meticulous, and classical in her painterly expression and in her colour scheme, which has clear references to Italian painting from the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance.
