Anti-reflective framing of the work Mujer saliendo del psicoanalista (Woman Leaving the Psychoanalyst's Office), 1960, by the surrealist Spanish-Mexican painter Remedios Varo. The poster comes pre-framed with a matte laminated surface, which significantly reduces reflections from light sources compared to ordinary glass and provides an attractive, calm visual expression without glare. The frame is made of oak veneer.
Remedios Varo, who declared that "the dream world and the real world are the same," attempted in an almost alchemical way to combine vastly different techniques, fantasies, and ideas in her paintings, which have an enigmatic, cinematic character and often incorporate hybrid creatures.
She made use of surrealism's chance-based processes but was at the same time incredibly precise, meticulous, and classical in her painterly expression and in her use of color, which has clear references to Italian painting from the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance.
