Jar for garlic

Jar for garlic, shallots or small onions from the Danish ceramicist Sarah Dannesboe. The jar is turned on a turntable using a gray stoneware clay with lava flecks and glazed with Sarah Dannesboe's own formula in a semi-matt oatmeal glaze. The glaze contains iron oxide, which together with the iron in the clay creates a fine oatmeal effect.

Sarah Dannesboe is an Anglo-Danish ceramicist with a workshop in North Zealand. Sarah's ceramics are hand-turned with stoneware clay and she only uses her own glazes. The ceramics are intended for everyday use, and there is a lot of focus on her products being light, elegant, timeless and functional.

Sarah uses local stoneware clays with a high chamotte content to create textures and provide contrast to her glazes. Sarah's inspiration for glaze colors and shades comes partly from the local coastal nature. All her glazes are completely unique and are developed from scratch by herself.
