Sophia is a handmade ceramic vase created by Marie Michielsse for the Belgian design brand Serax. Each vase is shaped and painted intuitively, giving a spontaneous and calligraphic expression. The natural unevenness and asymmetries make each vase unique.

Serax is a Belgian design brand, founded in 1986 by brothers Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche. It started modestly – in a garage – but has since grown into an internationally recognized lifestyle and interior design brand with its main base in Antwerp. The brand unites function and aesthetics in everything from ceramics and tableware to furniture, lighting and home accessories. The hallmarks are craftsmanship, earthy materials and collaborations with renowned designers such as Marie Michielssen, Vincent Van Duysen and Ann Demeulemeester.
